in a general sense I agree except, you underestimate my power. but mainly its a practical issue since there is no such community around here. at some value of "no such community around here" building your own church and joining the right one becomes the same thing. I mainly mean it literally, I mean as in masonry, as in literally putting bricks together and building a physical church, it's not a call to invent your own theology

I like this post but:

as a sinful guiltful slightly-improper-installation-of-the-full-fledged-nietzschean-superego gallic-irish Catholic woman (PBUH), let me just say:

I’m in the Netherlands right now and you Germanic Protestants are fucked the fuck up!!!!!!!!! Why do your buildings look so beehive-manicured!!!!! Why do you all walk look like you are smooth like ken dolls!!!!!!!! Y’all eloi-ass mfs are out here like: no fucking WHATsoever, except in the specially designated sacrificial zone where we fuck prostitutes in front of crowds, burn witches, sentence Derek chauvin, and tear out beating human hearts to appease Pretzelcoatl. Why doesn’t your « oud » cheese stink. Why don’t any of the women show cleavage. I hate it here

I want to kill scientism so fucking bad dude. Science and engineering when done for God creates the highest possible beauties from the means available to us. The Russel Brand built mythologies that almost all engineers work under needs to be torn down from these halls, stomped out like the evil it is.

I stumbled upon Orthodoxy some months ago and it’s really weird how I am confronted with it even in places I don‘t expect it at all. Anyway, thank you for this post. In Germany we actually have a small authentic german-orthodox parish. It was founded 30 years ago and I visited the monastery last year. It‘s beautiful, so be assured that Orthodoxy and Germanic autism go very well together.

something very glaring that brought me about to faith was how poorly physicalists were able to account for qualia and ecclesiastes, which i think deserves premier mention in an article about faith

Importantly, I am not interested in making an argument. I want to make a "how to" guide. This kind of stuff is an argument.

Well written, I like it. You address some valuable points, and the tie in of approaching religion like a language is a very good one. And it is right, religion is very much a language, it's all rooted in ritual, in symbolism, et al.

A small tap of insanity: perhaps instead of Protestantism as German Autism, how about a taste of Sinophilic Bipolar/Schizophrenic doctrine? Or is Sinic cultures not another form of "mental" compared to Catholicism, Orthodoxy and Islam?

In some sense, have you heard of guilt/shame/fear cultures, maybe the Lewis Model of Culture or Hofstede's Cultural Dimensions? It is worth a read and contrast with religious differences.
