Another compelling post - your writing here reads to me like a clearer version of The Last Psychiatrist, which I enjoyed. I would be interested in reading a novel of yours if you ever lean into fiction or autofiction.

One thing that I think is an interesting confluence between MK-Ultra and modern dating is PUA theory/applied evolutionary psychology because they're both based on this very intentional systematization of human relations. Of course, while it's always been argued that PUA tactics constitute a form of psychological manipulation, I think the more interesting question emerges when you remove the overtly manipulative "dark triad" elements of PUA psychology tactics (e.g. the much-derided "negging") and examine only the generic, slightly-modified "human sales funnel" that remains.
Consider the broad implications of generic approaches to "learned charm" or "learned charisma." Is *that* process - by virtue of its systematization & mechanization - also autonomy eroding against the person to whom it is applied? If so, wouldn't that imply that *any* "sales" process is autonomy eroding?

Anyways - love what you're doing here. Possibly, you might like my novel about a broadly similar topic: https://www.amazon.com/INCEL-Novel-ARX-Han/dp/B0C9SNQK9C/
